I
haven’t seen the movie ‘Sliding Doors’ yet - partly because I’ve
been too lazy to get off my ass to rent it, but mostly because I
am quite sure that it won’t live up to my unreasonably high expectations.
The concept, you see, is extremely powerful. What happens if you
make a seemingly innocuous decision like boarding the 10:10 a.m
Virar fast local train instead of the 10:15 a.m local, for example?
What if that decision triggers off a series of unplanned incidents
that change your life forever; and what happens in an alternate
life where you took the 10:15 a.m as usual? Would the events have
unfolded anyway, perhaps at some other time in some other form,
because they were meant to be? Or do you end up living a completely
different life - because you made a supposedly simple alternate
decision?
These are a lot of words to say that I would love to hear from you.
And maybe our e-mail exchange sets a chain of events in motion that
have the same impact as the butterfly that flapped her wings, and
caused a tornado on the other end of the world….. |
